how does the mirror work on a microscope

A

the mirror can be a light source and reflects the light from the room upwards
the light passes to the objective and eyepiece lens and the light rays spread through so we can see the image

A

select lowest power objective lens and position the objective lens so that it almost touches the slide by turning the course focusing knob, make sure your looking out to the side whilst doing so

A

when it almost touches stop turning the dial
now look down at the eyepiece and turn the course dial so there is an increased distance between the objective and slide until cells are in focus
