cells Flashcards
what are the 5 parts of an animal cell
cytoplasm, nucleus, cell membrane, ribosomes, mitochondria
what re the 6 parts of a plant cell
mitochondria, nucleus, cytoplasm, chloroplast, cellulose cell wall, permanent vacuole
what are the 7 parts of a bacteria cell
circular loop of dna, plasmid, cell membrane, peptidoglycan cell wall ,ribosomes, flagella
what does a nucleus do
control the cell and contains genetic info
what does a cell membrane do
controls what goes in and out of the cell
what do ribosomes do
synthesise proteins
what does mitochondria do
site of aerobic respiration and provides energy
what does the cytoplasm do
chemical reactions take place
jelly like liquid
what does a cell wall do
keeps cell rigid
what does a permanent vacuole do
contains cell sap and keeps cell turgid
what do plasmids do
replicates and moves between cells so genetic information can be shared
what does a flagella do
allows the cell to move
whats a prokaryotic cell
no nucleus, always cell wall present, unicellular only, ciruclar loop dna, smaller, plasmids
whats eukaryotic cell
has nucleus, for both uni/multi cellular, sometimes cell wall
