57.8 million people in the US have a mental illness
What population is mental illness prevalent the most in?
The prevalence was higher among females (27.2%) than males (18.1%).
Young adults aged 18-25 years had the highest prevalence (33.7%) compared to adults aged 26-49 years (28.1%) and aged 50 and older (15.0%).
What were the healthy people 2020 objectives
- Increase the number of people identified, diagnosed, treated, and helped to live healthier lives
- Decrease rates of suicide and homelessness
