A
acute onset of
- Fever
- Cough
- Tachypnoea

Treatment pneumonia
A
oral amoxycillin x2 daily high dose - 80mg/kg/day for 3-5 days
Augmentin = B-lactamase producing H influenzae and staph aureus cover
neonates < 2 m AND immunocompromised = G- cover = amikacin or gentamycin
severe pneumonia/ danger signs = IVI ampicillin and gentamycin
atypical - macrolides (Azithromycin or erythromycin)
necrotising pneumonia = staph aureus = cloxacillin
