How does sperm move? (2)
- Flagella
- sperm tails - Muscular contractions
What does the second oocyte have?
A protective shell that must be penetrated
How do sperm get through the oocytes protective shell?
They have enzymes that help digest through the corona radiata and bind to the zona pellucida
What happens once the sperm fuses to the oocyte?
The outer sperm head layer is sloughed off
- exposing more enzymes
