Ajwaf versbs have و or ي as 2nd radical. e.g. قال is originally قَوَلَ and يَقُولُ is originally يَقْوُلُ and سارَ is originally سَيَرَ and يَسيرُ is originally يَسْيِرُ Some more changes if they are followed by a mutaharrik pronouns (I prefer my sukun method - makes more sense [f dual maadhi]):

MAADHI if its a-u then the first radical takes dhamma and the 2nd radical is omitted: قُلْنَ قُلْتَ قُلتُم قُلتِ قُلتُـنَّ If its a-i then first radical takes kasra and second letter omitted.
