1) Compares الماضي / المضارع / الأمر

In ماضي the first root radical always has ـَ (fatHa) and in مضارع it has ـْ (sukun) (معلوم)
In ماضي the third root radical always has ـَ (fatHa) and in مضارع it has ـُ (dhammah) (معلوم)

2) Numbers 21-30:

واحدٌ وَ عِشْرُونَ طالِباً

a) The two parts are joined by a وَ
b) First part has a ـٌ (tanwin), although إثنان obviously doesn’t
c) واحدٌ and إثنانِ are masculine with the masculine معدود but the numbers from 3-9 are feminine with masculine.

إثنانِ و عِشرونَ رَجُلاً
ثلاثَةٌ و عِشرونَ رَجُلاً
أربعْةٌ و عِشرونَ رَجُلاً

3) “Quarter to nine” التاسِعَةُ إلاَّ رُبْعاً (literally إلاَّ means ‘except’, and the noun following it is N!
Ten to one: الساعةُ الواحدةُ إلّا عشْرَ دقائقَ
Five to two: الساعةُ الثانيةُ إلّا خمسَ دقائقَ
One minute to five: الساعةُ الخامسةُ الّاَ دقيقةً واحدةً
