Laam al ta’leel لام التَعليل “لِ”

e.g. أدرُسُ اللغة العَرَبيَّة لِاَفْهَمَ القُرْآن NOTE the verb أفهَمَ is in N! Its one of those where أن is hidden (AM says was originally لِ +أن but أن is ommitted, but still causes the following verb to be in N!).

Since = مُنْدُ - its a preposition, i.e. H-J Bilal is absent since one week بِلالٌ غائبٌ مُنْدُ أسبوعٍ

If the faa’il is feminine (human or animal), the verb must also be feminine.

May also be feminine with non-humans (can use both m or f apparently, but says will learn other rules later). دَخَلَتْ آمِنَة
