- Continues up the thigh to penetrate the fascia late below and lateral to the pubic tubercle at the Saphenous Opening
- Drains into the Femoral Vein
Describe the course of the Small Saphenous Vein
- Formed laterally from the dorsal venous arch of the foot
- Ascends on the back of the calf accompanied by the Sural Nerve
- Penetrates the deep fascia in the popliteal fossa and joins the popliteal vein
What is the lymphatic drainage of the foot and leg?
Mostly drains along the Great Saphenous Vein to the Inguinal Lymph Nodes. Lateral Leg and foot drain alongside the small saphenous vein to the Popliteal Lymph Nodes
