what are the main tells of inflammatory arthritis

what are the main tells of non inflammatory arthritis
- stiffness after inactivity that lasts a few mins
- no systemic symptoms
- joint pattern fits with OA
- no other features or organ involvement
what is the order of joints affected in RA
distal to proximal
(small joints first)
symmetrical
what are the most common risk factors for RA
genetic factors (responsible for most)
environmental factors - sex and hormones (more likely in women)
what are the goals in the treatment of RA
- prevent or control joint damage
- preserve or prevent loss of function
- decrease pain and swelling
what are the roles of non pharmacological treatments of RA (PT and exercise)
- decreases pain and stiffness
- improves ability to perform daily tasks and activities
- enables better sleep relasation
- strengthens muscles and tendons to take weight off of the joints
- helps maintain healthy weight and improves sense of well being
- decreases likelihood of medical complications
