Deciding whether an action is moral and acceptable to God. Especially in areas such as war, murder, abortion, euthanasia and capital punishment.

Preserving life is a duty in Judaism.
How does new medical advancements make life and death more complex for Jews?
Because whilst Jews need to preserve life, some believe that keeping someone alive unneccessarily when they should be dead is preventing a natural death.
Whats the main message of Sanhedrin 4:5?
if a person kills someone, they may aswell kill everyone and everything. However, if somebody saves one life, they should save every life.
What is Pikuach nefesh?
it means ‘saving a life’.
Because the oblgatigation to save a life is so important in Judaism, it can do what?
It can override other responsibilities and most Jewish Laws. It can even overrride Shabbat.
Why do some Jews disagree with transplant surgery?
Because they believe that a body should be complete when buried.
