Why did Henry break with Rome (3)
1wanted people to only listen to him and not pope,

How did the king respond to the pilgrims
1 he sent duke of norfolk to negotiate with rebels- norfolk assured them the king would listen.
2 Aske went to london for christmas with the king and rebels went home.
3 In January rebels attacked a castle in the north. As a warning Norfolk hung 74 rebels.
Aske was called back to london was arrested and hung
why did rebels attack castles in the north in January 1537
because they heard that the king had no intention of sticking to his word.

no more religious rebellions took place in henry’s reign
