A

1 the peasants revolt was the first uprising against royal power by commoners.
2 Many villages eg Sussex/Kent refused to pay tax and threatened tax collectors.
3 The chief justice tried to collect taxes and locals beheaded his clerk.
4 Rebels freed John Ball and Tyler from prison john went to London with crowd and killed Arch Bishop of Canterbury

What happened to Tyler

A

1 He met with Richard II to ask for villeins to be made freemen.
2 Richard agreed but rebels went on killing spree.
3 King met with Tyler again, he asked for changes to system of law, before he answered one of the kings men killed Tyler.
4 To prevent a riot the king told the crowd he would grant their request

A

1 first time commoner had rebelled against royals. revolt
2 failed as king went back on his word said he was forced and leader were hung.

A

1rebels suceeded in a number of ways
2 never taxed so heavily again,
3 peasant wages continued to rise,
4 more peasants became freemen and bought land, 5 paliament gave up trying to control peasant wages, by 1450 all peasants were free
