What are the classes of HAART in HIV and examples?

A
  1. NRTI (nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor)
    - lamivudine
    - TDF - gives fanconis - high phosphaturia, glycosuria, uricidaemia, - prodrug - short half life, kidney takes up free tenofovir - kidney damage via mitochondrial toxicity
    - TAF
    - emtricitabine
    - Abacavir

2 NNRTI (does not find at the deoxybucleotide binding site)
- nevirapine
- efavirenze

  1. Protease inhibitors
    - ritonavir - used to boost other PIs
    - lopinavir
  2. Integrate inhibitors
    - dolutegravir
    - raltegravir
