Define communicable diseases?
Passed between hosts and are contagious Eg. Chicken pox, genetic cancers
Define non communicable diseases?
Chronic diseases that are not passed from one person to another Eg. Dementia, tetanus, chrome and cancers
Define endemic?
Present in the population in over a long period of time Eg. Zika
Define epidemic?
Sudden, increase of the disease (rapid spread) Eg. Neurovirus, Ebola, virus
What is a pandemic?
A worldwide epidemic, HIV and AIDS

Elderly, low immunity, babies - immunity not developed yet
Define normal flora?
Microorganisms that do not usually cause harm and are usually present in a particular location
What is opportunistic infections?
Other infections when arise when the immune system is impaired

Explosive high levels of disease in a population
