Autonomic Nervous System Flashcards
The PNS is divided into 2 sections:
1) somatic
2) autonomic
What is the somatic nervous system?
Allows sensation and control of voluntary actions
What is the autonomic nervous system?
Involuntary actions and body’s internal environment

What do the neurons from SNS stimulate when someone is scared?
Fight or flight
During fight or flight, the adrenal glands will secrete?
Dopamine
What does antagonistic mean?
Both systems working together Eg. Sympathetic increases its activity and Parasympathetic inhibits the activity
The somatic system is?
Part of the PNS that controls involuntary function
