they were the largest party in the reichstag with 230 seats but did not have a majority. Hitler though hindenburg would have to make him chancellor beacuse of his party’s popularity but hindenburg ddi not like hitler

they used they sA to scare oppostion
they balmed the reichstag fire on the communists so they lost oppostion and so hitler was given emergency powers to deal with the threat
the nazi won 288 seats but still did not have a majority
