Oestrogen
From ovaries is the main female sex hormone. At puberty eggs begin to mature and be released this is called ovulation
Testosterone
Main male sex hormone. Produced by the testes and stimulates sperm production
Menstrual Cycle - Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH)
Secreted by the pituitary gland. Causes egg to mature in ovaries in the first part of the cycle
Menstrual Cycle - Oestrogen
Secreted by the ovaries. Makes the lining of the uterus grow again after menstruation
Menstrual Cycle - Luteinising Hormone (LH)
Secreted by the pituitary gland. Stimulates the release of the egg from the ovary (ovulation)
Menstrual Cycle - Progesterone
Secreted by empty follicle in the ovaies. Maintains the lining of the uterus during the second half of the cycle
