What are communicable diseases?
Communicable diseases are infectious and caused by pathogens that carry bacteria or viruses.
What are non-communicable diseases?
Non-communicable diseases are diseases that cannot be transmitted from person to person.
What are pathogens?
Pathogens are microorganisms that cause diseases, such as viruses, bacteria, fungi and protists.
What is a virus?
Viruses are pathogens that reproduce inside of cells and take them over, causing damage to the cells and harming you.
What is bacteria?
Bacteria are pathogens that reproduce rapidly inside the body and cause harm by producing toxins or attacking cells.
What other factors effect health? Name 3
Diet, stress, location, sex, financial status, ethnic group, health care programs, number of children, how sanitary your environment is.
How do different health problems interact?
Different health problems can and often do happen simultaneously. They usually make each other worse and can cause even more issues.
