Painkillers relieve the symptoms but don’t effect the pathogen, however they put you at ease whilst your immune system handles it,

A
Antibiotics are medicines that work within the body to kill bacterial pathogens.

How do antibiotics work?
A
Antibiotics work by killing the bacteria whilst it is within your body, without harming your cells.

What are the limitations of antibiotics?
A
They cannot kill viral pathogens or viruses, as they reproduce inside cells and it is difficult to destroy them without harming the host cell.
Bacteria is becoming immune to antibiotics due to over exposure.
