A

3 types
type 1 - no loss IP attachment papilla intact M and D
type 2 - loss of IP attachment but less than or equal to buccal attachment loss
type 3 - loss of Ip attachment > buccal attachment loss

Tx levels for NUP?

A

1) Ultrasonic debridement - disrupt biofilm
2) chlorohexidine mouthwash 2x daily
3) Systemic antibiotics, not first line of treatment. Examples metronidazole, amoxicillin
4) smoking cessation, vitamins and diet and OH
