What is the medial palpebral ligament?
A node of connective tissue at the medial end of the eyelid.
This is the attachment for the eye muscles.
What is this muscle and what is it’s function?
Levator labii Superiorus
Elevation of the upper lip and nose.
Compare the two zygomaticus muscles
Minor Zygomaticus muscle is smaller and found medially.
Major Zygomaticus muscle is larger and found on its lateral side.
Name and give the function of this muscle.
The Risourius muscle pulls the corner of the mouth out to the side.

Depressor anguli Oris-
This pulls the corner of the mouth down

Platysma muscle which wrinkles the skin of the neck.

Depressor labi inferiorus-
This pulls the lower lip down.
What is this muscle and what is it’s function?
Orbicularis oris
This provides a seal for your mouth.
Name and function of this muscle:
Buccinator
Gives tone to the cheek and pushes food in between teeth when eating.
compare the two parts of the orbicularis oculi?
The Orbital part (outer) contains courser fibres for closing the eyes.
The Palpebral part contains finer fibres for blinking.

Procerus muscle-
Contracts to wrinkle nose (look of concentration)

Frontalis muscle
Wrinkles the skin of the forehead and raises the eyebrows.

Epicranial Aponeurosis-
A flattened tendon that joins the two frontalis muscles together.
