Q

Where are intramuscular muscular injections done?

A

into gluteus maximus in the upper right quadrant of the muscle, this avoids contact of the needle with the sciatic nerve

Q

What is Trendelenburg Sign?

A

When standing on one leg, the pelvis drops on the unsupported side, indicating weakness in the gluteus medius muscle. Caused by injury to the gluteus medius and or minimus. Damage to the superior gluteal nerve

Q

Trendelenburg gait

A

requires more muscle activity for walking, which makes walking much more tiring

Q

What is piriformis syndrome ?

A

Condition where the piriformis muscle compresses the sciatic nerve, causing pain in the buttocks and along the path of the nerve.
