A thick fibrous band on the sole of the foot that helps maintain the arch of the foot.
What is plantar fascitis?
inflammation of the plantar apeuonrosis
What muscles lay in first layer of the foot muscles?
Abductor hallucis, flexor digitorum brevis, abductor digiti minimi
what muscles lay in the second layer of the foot muscles?
lumbricals, quadratus plantae, tendon of flexor digitorum longus
what muscles lay in the third layer of the foot muscles?
Flexor hallucis brevis, flexor digiti minimi brevis, adductor hallucis
what muscles are in the fourth layer of the foot muscles?
plantar and dorsal interossei
What does the tibia nerve split into after it crosses the medial malleolus?
the medial plantar nerve and the lateral plantar nerve. They supply the foot muscles on the plantar surfaces
