To provide a reference, for all employees to access, that pertains to the use of the Glendale Fire Department (GFD) name or status as a GFD employee when promoting or being involved in any community activity. The goal of the City of Glendale (COG) and the GFD is to ensure that employees represent the GFD and COG in a positive manner.

Any employee representing the department, as a GFD employee or using the GFD name in a community activity, must receive prior approval from whom?

If the employee is representing themselves as a citizen in a community program do they need approval from the Fire Chief?

No approval is necessary, but City policies and directives, specifically those regarding code of conduct, would still apply.
