To serve the best interest of the community in a fair an equitable manner.
What does the policy state regarding Public Confidence?
Employees should conduct themselves so as to maintain public confidence in their profession, their local government and their performance of public trust.
What is professional respect?
Professional respect does not preclude honest differences of opinion and does preclude attacking a person’s motives or integrity.
Can a city employee participate in political campaigns beyond signing a petition for nomination or voting?
No, City Code prohibits any person holding a position with the city from participating in political campaigns for city elective office.
Can city employees accept gifts?
No employee shall accept as an individual any gift, fee, discount or other valuable item in the course of performing the duties of his/her position. Complimentary or appreciative items which are of nominal value including cake, cookies, candy, or lunches are acceptable.

Yes, employees should not be involved with any acidity which might be seen as conflicting with the responsibility of the employees position in the city.
Personal Relationships:
Personal relationships involving employees on their personal time and off city property are outside of the city’s are of responsibility. However, the city will become involved and will take appropriate action if problems from such relationships manifest themselves on thee job
