Fuel Systems Atlas Flashcards
What calculates individual fuel tank quantity for indication?
Indications are calculated by the fuel quantity processor. There is a separate calculation for the total fuel quantity indication which is also displayed on the FMC
What does players are on the fuel quantity indicator panel?
L, C and R tank quantities
Fuel temp
Totaliser
Fuel for the APU is supplied by which tank?
Left main tank
Fuel from the wingtip surge tank is drained into which tank?
Centre tank
What do boxes on the PERF INIT page indicate on the FUEL QUANTITY line?
The FMC’s are not receiving Fuel quantity data
Which pump is supplying fuel to the APU with the APU generator power in the aeroplane?
Left Forward boost pump
With the engines running, when will the centre pump pressure lights illuminate?
When pump pressure is low or no usable fuel in the centre tank with the centre pumps on
When will the FUEL CONFIG light illuminate?
When fuel is low in either main tank – below 2220lbs
When main tanks differ by 2000lbs – plus or minus 500lbs
With centre pump switches off and 1200lbs or more in the centre tank
When the fuel control switch is moved from cut-off to run which fuel valves open?
Spar valve and engine valve
Is it normal for the LOW PRESSURE light to be extinguished in the left FWD fuel pump during pre-flight?
Yes, but only when the APU is operating
Can the left forward fuel pump be switched off if it is supplying fuel to the APU on the ground with the APU running?
No, the pump cannot be turned off
How can you tell if the fuel pump switch is off?
The bar and On and will be out of view
What is the position of the cross feed valve with the bar out of view?
Switch is off and valve is closed
What is the status of a main tank fuel pump with the bar and ON in view, but with a LOW PRESSURE light on?
Turned on – output pressure is low
When will the DC fuel boost pump start automatically?
When the APU is started with battery power only
