Engines Flashcards
When doesn’t the TMC manage thrust?
In VNAV when its managed by a single FMC
What is EEC soft transition/hard transition?
Soft = Boeing moving EEC from Norm to Alternate
Hard = You moving EEC from Norm to Alternate
Can Boeing overboost an engine during a soft transition of the EEC?
No
What occurs during OVERSPEED protection?
EEC removes fuel above the amber line
For overboost protection, what is the relationship between N1 and power?
None.
Reduction of thrust to ensure over boost doesn’t occur
What protections does the EEC provide?
N1/Thrust relationship
Atmospheric compensation
Bleed compensation
Approach Idle
Ignition when Auto ignition is selected
Auto Relight
What are the 3 ways you can go to approach idle?
Flaps out of up
Continuous ignition
Nacelle anti ice selected
What is approach idle?
High spool idle to ensure go around thrust within certain timeframe
What is EEC atmospheric compensation?
Temperature pressure calculated by EEC for thrust as altitude changes without movement of thrust levers
What is EEC Bleed compensation?
With the application of Engine Anti Ice the EEC compensates for the diversion of bleed air
When is approach idle cancelled?
5 seconds after touchdown through the main gear logic
What is the optimum duct pressure for engine start?
21PSI
When are RTO Brakes armed during TO?
85kts
