Anti-Ice, Rain Atlas Flashcards
What flight deck windows are both anti-iced and anti-fogged?
The two pilot forward windows
When is power to the electrically heated probes applied?
Anytime an engine is running
Wing anti-ice protection is applied to which portion of the wings?
Three (3) outboard slats
Wing Anti-ice is selected on.
What will the wing anti-ice valves do when the aircraft lands?
The valves will automatically close upon landing
Wing Anti-ice is selected on.
What will the Wing Anti-ice VALVE lights do when the aeroplane lands?
Illuminate and remain on until wing anti ice switch is turned off.
If the left engine anti-ice switch is selected off and its VALVE light is illuminated, what is the condition of the left Engine Anti Ice Valve?
Signalled closed, and not closed
What should the crew do if a windshield cracks or sustains damage in flight?
Consult the windshield damage non-normal checklist in the un-annunciated section of the QRH
What is the condition of the engine anti ice valve with the switch ON and the VALVE illuminated?
Signalled open, and closed or in transit
What occurs with the engine indications when the engine anti-ice is selected on?
TAI is indicated on the EICAS commanding a higher thrust limit
If the right wing anti-ice valve is stuck in the open position, why is the engine bleed air switch turned off after landing?
Prevent engine bleed airflow to the right wing
How are the wing anti ice valves controlled and operated?
Electrically controlled, pneumatically operated.
How are the engine anti ice valves controlled and actuated?
Electrically controlled, pneumatically operated.
The ICE DET light indicates that:
The automatic ice detection system (as installed) has failed
When is the TAT probe light extinguished? When is the probe heated?
The light extinguishes at engine start. It is heated once airborne
On an aircraft equipped with automatic ice detection, what happens when the system detects ice?
The Wing and Engine anti-ice valves are automatically opened
