20
Q

The cargo area is divided in to how many compartments?

A

3

21
Q

Which cargo compartment or compartments utilise the bleed air system for supply of warm air?

A

The FWD and AFT receive warm air from the bleed air system

22
Q

Where is the Bulk Cargo Heat selector located?

A

Accessory Panel

23
Q

What happens when the Bulk Cargo Heat selector is placed in the vent position?

A

Turns on a fan to improved air circulation.
Draws cabin air into the bulk cargo compartment
Allows higher temperature (65F) to be achieved in the compartment

24
Q

When the aircraft is on the ground how does the equipment cooling system configure its fans for cooling?

A

The equipment cooling systems has 2 fans. (A supply and an Exhaust)

On the ground both these fans are configured ON

25
Q

When the aircraft has both engines started, the equipment cooling automatically reconfigures for flight.

What is the normal configuration of the system for flight?

A

The system closes the overboard exhaust valve to make a closed loop system through the skin heat exchanger and commands the supply fan to OFF

26
Q

When does the valve light for the equipment cooling system illuminate while the aircraft is still on the ground?

A

When one (1) or more of the equipment cooling valves are not in the commanded position for flight

27
Q

What does an equipment cooling OVERHEAT light in flight indicate?

A

The system is too hot.
The assumption is that both fans in the system are OFF

28
Q

What would moving the equipment selector to STBY do if there is an equipment cooling SMOKE light illuminated?

A

Moving the selector to STBY would send a signal to activate the supply fan to ON.
The OVERHEAT light would then be inhibited for five (5) minutes to allow the system to cool

29
Q

What does an equipment cooling SMOKE light indicate?

A

Indicates the presence of smoke within the equipment cooling system

30
Q

When the equipment cooling SMOKE light is indicated the crew will be directed to move the selector to the OVRD position.

What happens with this selector is placed in to OVRD?

A

Both the supply and exhaust fans are deactivated.
Smoke Override valve is opened
System uses differential pressure to exhaust air overboard

31
Q

After one (1) minute in the OVRD selection what can the crew expect to see eventually on the equipment cooling panel?

A

NO COOLING light is uninhibited and will eventually come on

32
Q

What is the purpose of the Trim Air system?

A

The aircraft pack controllers regulate the pack output air temperature to the compartment requesting the coolest air.

Hot trim wire from the bleeds is then added through the trim air valves to control the temperatures in the other compartments

33
Q

If the Trim Air switch is selected to OFF. What indication will the crew see?

A

The compartment INOP lights illuminate and associated compartment temp advisory EICAS message will present

34
Q

When operating with the Trim Air selected to OFF. What cabin temperature do the packs attempt to maintain?

A

An average temperature of 75F/24C

35
Q

What occurs after a cabin zone temperature is turned off?

A

Zone trim air is lost and the INOP light stays on

36
Q

What is the maximum normal operating differential pressure?

A

8.6psi

37
Q

Which isolation valve must be open to allow the flow of the APU bleed air in to the manifold?

A

C ISLN

38
Q

When are the L and R isolation calves normally closed?

A

After engine start

39
Q

What does it mean when the isolation valve light comes on?

A

The valve and switch position are not in agreement

40
Q

What is indicated if a left or right DUCT LEAK light is on?

A

A pneumatic duct leak in the associated duct

41
Q

If the DUCT LEAK light is on , when will it go out?

A

When the temperature along the pneumatic duct cools

42
Q

Which systems become inoperative when the bleed air prevented from entering the centre pneumatic duct?

A

The ADP and AFT/BULK cargo heat

43
Q

Which valves MUST be open to start the left engine using a ground air cart?

A

STARTER only

44
Q

What does the BLEED light indicate (PW)?

A

Engine high pressure valve open, when it should be closed.

45
Q

What does the BLEED light indicate (GE)?

A

High pressure shut off valve and/or pressure regulating valves are open when they should be closed

46
Q

With the APU operating, both isolation valves open, which air condition pack can be supplied?

A

Left Pack and Right Pack

47
Q

With the APU operating, what is the position of the APU bleed air valve?

A

Open

48
Q

What must be done if a temperature below 45F is desired when the Forward Cargo Air Conditioning System is installed on the FREIGHTER?

A

The Forward Cargo Heat must be selected OFF
