Flow Bonding Flashcards
1
Q
Flow Bonding
A
The base metal is not melted. A filler metal with a different composition and lower melting temperature is used
2
Q
Braze Welding
A
Joining two or more metal together using a filler metal, the base metal is not melted.
- Filler metal is Non-Ferrous Alloys that have melting temperatures higher than 800°F (lower than the metals being joined)
3
Q
Brazing
A
Similar to Braze Welding, but filler metal is applied to a close fitting joint by replacement (Capillary Action)
4
Q
Soldering
A
Similar to Braze Welding, main difference is melting temperature of filler metal is below 425°C (800°F)
- Low mechanical strength
