International Standards Organization (ISO)

Globally, NDT is governed by this body and the ISO 9712 Standard Of Qualification and Certification for NDT Personnel. Countries and other certifying bodies can establish their own certification systems in accordance to the ISO 9712 Standard.

Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB) + Department of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan)

CGSB is Canada’s version of the ISO 9712 (CAN?CGSB 48.9712)
NRCan is the agency appointed by the National Certifying Board (NCB) to administer this certification process.

• Recertification is required after 10 years

The employer is responsible for administering method specific examinations. Subject to client approval.
