Most common= deflexion of the head
Signs of obstruction in failure to progress?
-moulding
-Caput (swelling that affects newborns scalp)
-Anuria
-Haematuria
-Vulval oedema
Investigations in failure to progress?
Assess progress in labour:
-cervical dilatation
-descent of presenting part
Partogram
-a graphic representation in the progress of labour
-commence as soon as in established labour
what is assessed in a partogram?
Measures:
-Fetal heart
-Amniotic fluid
-Cervical dilatation
-Descent
-Contractions
-Obstruction (moulding)
