17
Q

action to test inferior rectus

A

18
Q

action to test inferior oblique

A

look medial, then up

19
Q

action to test superior oblique

A

look medial, then down

20
Q

oculomotor nerve injury characteristics

A

affected eye will be “down and out,” ptosis, mydriasis

21
Q

explain oculomotor nerve injury characteristics

A

only trochlear (superior oblique) and abducens (abduction) will be functioning, causing the eye to drift inferiorly and laterally

22
Q

trochlear nerve injury characteristics

A

affected eye will drift upward, mild adduction, with worsening symptoms on looking down. Looking down and out causes diplopia, and pt tilts head to unaffected side

23
Q

explain trochlear nerve injury characteristics

A

the superior oblique will not work, so the ability of the eye to look downward will be diminished

24
Q

abducens nerve injury characteristics

A

affected eye will drift medially

25
Q

explain abducens nerve injury characteristics

A

the lateral rectus will not work, so eye cannot abduct and will adduct instead

26
Q

eyelid muscle innervated by CN III

A

levator palpebrae superioris

27
Q

esotropia

A

adducted eye at rest

28
Q

strabismus

A

weakness of eye muscle(s)
