BCF

A

Red plastic disk is intact at the rear of the handle

Used on electrical and flammable liquid fires, can also be used on fabric and paper fires

Fumes given off are liable to be dangerous, especially in a confined space

PRECAUTIONS

wear PBE

before discharging in flight deck PUT ON OXY MASKS AND SMOKE GOGGLES AND OXY 100%

Do not allow any metal part of the extinguisher to make contact with live wires

If fighting fluid fires avoid getting too close to reduce risks of scattering or splashing fluid surface

BCF has been shown not to be effective on combustible metal fires CLASS D but it can be effective in fighting the subsequent fire of surrounding material
