A
  • The Western rebellion in devon was prompted particularly by relgious greaivances
  • This rebellion was the prayer book rebellion on account of the deceription by the rebels of the new book
  • The relgious grievances ran much deeper
  • This was since both the role of the church socially in the community, the poor relief which it provided had all gone, and so had the relgiious practcies

  • The western rebellion was supperessed by lord russell and with somerset aiding him with foreign merceneries who were able to suppress and crush the rebellion
  • The Ketts rebellion had to be dealth by the earl of warwick and the rebellion was brutally crushed with ketts being hung for treason
