What was the Western Rebellion?
A
- The Western rebellion in devon was prompted particularly by relgious greaivances
- This rebellion was the prayer book rebellion on account of the deceription by the rebels of the new book
- The relgious grievances ran much deeper
- This was since both the role of the church socially in the community, the poor relief which it provided had all gone, and so had the relgiious practcies
- Due to the monastries and chantries and guilds

A
- This was due to enclousre issues
- Hatred of goevrnemtn officials
- Resentment of the abuse by landowners of the norflock foldcourse system
- The bad management of the howards

How were both the rebellions suppressed?
A
- The western rebellion was supperessed by lord russell and with somerset aiding him with foreign merceneries who were able to suppress and crush the rebellion
- The Ketts rebellion had to be dealth by the earl of warwick and the rebellion was brutally crushed with ketts being hung for treason
