Define Flight Duty Period (FDP).

777 LHR - 90mins 777 LGW - 75mins. Elsewhere 60mins.
What is Max FDP on a 1 or 2 sector day for acclimatised crew of two?
Depends report time but between 0600-1400 13hrs reducing thereafter to a minimum of 11hrs.
What is Max FDP on a 1 or 2 sector day for a crew of two in an ‘Unknown State’ of acclimatisation?
11hrs.
How can an FDP be extended?
By in-flight rest in suitable Class1/2/3 facility and/or commanders discretion.
What is the minimum in-flight rest period to qualify to extend FDP?
2 consecutive hours for landing pilots (otherwise 90mins).
With an augmented crew (i.e. 3/4 pilots), what becomes the max FDP on a single sector with a flight time under 9 hrs or a sector over 9hrs flight time with a Class 1 rest facility?
Under 9 hrs > 3 crew > 16hrs
Over 9 hrs > 3 crew > 17hrs (4 crew > 18hrs)
Does in-flight rest over and above 2 hrs make any difference to the max FDP?
No!
When can Commander’s discretion be used?
Unforeseen circumstances provided commander considers the safety of the flight will not be adversely affected. All crew should be consulted. Commander’s Discretion can also be used to reduce a rest period (min 10hrs).
What is the maximum additional FDP using commander’s discretion?
2hrs (3hrs with augmented crew)
What might you do if the Cabin Crew (OHAR) or Flight Crew (OFCR) facilities are u/s?
Consider use of First or Club seats in accordance with guidance in OMA Section 7.
