ATC Services Flashcards
- What is an Advisory Area? Can you fly in Advisory Areas?
Basically Class F and G airspace where Radar Control is not available. A ‘deconfliction’ service may be available however pilots are ultimately responsible for collision avoidance and terrain clearance. Flight is permitted in such airspace with due regard to wx condx/traffic density/duration within and possible alternate routings.
- Define VMC? OMA 8.28.12.e
Sfc to 3000ft > viz 5km clear of cloud in sight of surface
3000ft – FL100 > viz 5km, 1500m horizontally and 1000ft vertically from cloud
Above FL100 > viz 8km, 1500m horizontally and 1000ft vertically from cloud

Contact Flight Technical Dispatch.

Exceptionally in London and Manchester TMA’s.

No.
- You are given ‘land after’ clearance. Who is responsible for separation?
You are responsible for separation and wake-turbulence.
