  • result of sudden unpredictable distribution in coronary blood flow
  • can cause ischaemia and necrosis
  • caused due to plaque which can rupture and cause thrombus

Symptoms:

  • chest pain that radiates to jaw, neck or arm
  • shortness of breath, sweating and vomiting
