The stomadeum
When does the stomadeum develop?
It appears in the 3rd week with break down of the buccopharyngeal membrane
What binds the stomadeum? What does this produce?
The mandibular arch which produces floor, lower lip, and maxillary process.
What do frontonasal processes grow from?
the forebrain capsule and forms pits
What processes encircle the eye?
Maxillary and nasal processes
What forms the upper lip and maxilla?
Maxillary processes unite in the midline to form the upper lip and maxilla
What grows down from the forebrain capsule?
The midline flange
What grows medially from each maxillary process?
Palatal process
What is the nerve supply to the face? What segments?
Trigeminal/5th cranial nerve
Frontonasal - ophthalmic
Maxillary processes and derivatives - maxillary
Lower jaw - mandibular
