Q

What finishes can be put onto a metal?

A
Coating: resist to compression
Tinning: Add tin coat
Anealing: Easy To bend
Tempuring: Increase strength
Galvanizing: Prevent Rust
17
Q

What are some finishes for metal?

A

Dip coating
- Heated and dropped into a bath of polyethene to cover product (eg. wire shelves in a fridge)
Electroplating
- Metal coated in another metal using electricity
Painting
- Changes colour of metal, primer required
Galvanizing
- Dipping steel product in zinc bath to protect and provide better corrosion resistance.
