A sensory abnormality that produces a tingling sensation.
Paresthesia
A progressive, degenerative disorder affecting motor neurons of the spinal cord, brain stem, and cerebral hemispheres.
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
A rare condition in which the brain fails to develop at levels above the mesencephalon or inferior part of the diencephalon.
Anencephaly
A disorder that affects voluntary motor performance and arises in infancy or childhood as a result of prenatal trauma drug exposure, or a congenital defect.
Cerebral Palsy
A change in pupillary size in response to changes in light intensity; a decrease in receptor sensitivity or perception after chronic stimulation; physiological responses that produce acclimatization.
Adaptation
Pain that is felt in a location other than where the pain originates.
Referred Pain
A temporary or permanent loss of memory.
Amnesia
A disorder resulting from degenerative changes in populations of neurons in the cerebrum, causing dementia characterized by problems with attention, short-term memory, and emotions. A progressive CNS disorder marked by the loss of higher-order cerebral functions.
Alzheimer Disease
Loss of the ability to store new memories.
Anterograde Amnesia
An inherited CNS disease marked by a progressive deterioration of mental abilities and by motor disturbances.
Huntington Disease
Loss of both past memories and the ability to consolidate new memories as a result of a head injury.
Post-Traumatic Amnesia
Loss of memory of past events.
Retrodrade Amnesia
A psychological disorder marked by pronounced disturbances of mood, thought patters, and behavior.
Schizophrenia
A progressive loss of memory, spatial orientation, language, and personality as a consequence of aging.
Senile Dementia
A total loss of sensation.
