Appendicular Skeleton
Where each arm articulates with the trunk, also known as shoulder girdle.
Pectoral Girdle
A shallow depression or furrowing the surface of a bone.
Fossa
The proximal end of the ulna that forms the prominent point of the elbow.
Olecranon
The five bones of the palm of the hand.
Metacarpal Bones
Bone(s) of the finger(s) or toe(s).
Phalanges
The thumb.
Pollex
Hip; innominate bones.
Coxal Bones
The fossa on the lateral aspect of the pelvis that accommodates the head of the femur.
Acetabulum
An opening or passage through a bone.
Foramen
(lesser) Encloses the pelvic cavity, a subdivision of the abnominopelvic cavity.
True Pelvis
(greater) Consists of the expanded, blade like portions of each ilium superior to the pelvic brim.
False Pelvis
The longest and heaviest bone in the body; it articulates with the coxal bone at the hip joint and with the tibia of the leg ant the knee joint.
Femur
The sesamoid bone of the kneecap.
Patella
The bones of the ankle.
