Who is Abraham?

A

Abraham is known as the founding father of Judaism after he made a covenant promise with God
Abraham is a role model to many Jews as he believed in one God and trusted in God throughout his life. He is known as a man of great faith.

Where did God say Abraham could live?

A

God called Abraham and his family to a new land called Canaan. This land is now referenced to as Israel and often the promised land because of Gods predated to promise to give the land the descendants of Abraham. Jews have lived here more than 3200 years.

he blessed Abraham and his family. As a part of the covenant GOd gave Abraham the rite of cicrumcision. Jewish male children are usually cicumcised the 8th day after being born to reflect their relationship with God.

A

Many parents will have their baby cicumcised in the ritual of Brit Ilan. This acts a physical sign of the covenant and welcomes the baby officially into the community

Who is Moses?

A

Moses is a very important prophet to JEwish people as they believe he is the only one to has seen god face to face
He had a special relationship with God.
Was the greatest leader and teacher and he is the deliverer of Gods words and the receiver of many miracles sent by God which it is through him that GOd acts.

What did Moses do?

A

HE was chosen by God to lead the Israelites out o f slavery in Egypt although he thought he wasn’t capable. But god said that he promised to be with him.
He was given thte Torah by God on Mount Sinai and Orthodox HEws believe h was also given the oral Torah - commentary which discusses the written Torah.

How will this change a Jews life?

A

Many celebrate Passover, which remembers the actions of Moses in freeing the JEwish ancestors such as the parting of the REd Sea. The account of the escape from Egypt is read aloud every year during this festival where JEwish people remember and thank Moses for his bravery.
