Codeine MOA
A
Opioid receptors (codeine is an opioid) are all g-coupled protein receptors
When opioids bind to these receptors a decreased intracellular cAMP (messenger molecule), hyperpolarization of the cell and neuronal cells, and decreased neurotransmitter release.

A
addictive, tiredness, muscle stiffness

A
not for intestinal obstruction patients, or respiratory patients with shallow breathing
