Aspirin indications
A
peripheral arterial disease, post-stroke, post-MI

Aspirin MOA
A
Platelets help blood clots stick. Thromboxane A2 important for platelet aggregation cant be produced as COX-1 is inhibited so platelet aggregation can’t occur

Aspirin side effects
A
Potential severe bleeds (GI) more likely if ulcer present. Bleeding may lead to stroke

Aspirin cautions
A
Asthmatics, clotting disorders, stomach ulcer (cause/worsen)
