Involve movement and are often linked to fitness
What are psychomotor abilities?
involve processing information and putting the selected movement into practice
Name the types of gross motor abilities
Dynamic strength- strength while moving
Static strength-plank
Explosive strength-exertion of force over a short period
Stamina- maintaining effort over a period
Extent flexibility- core- high dive
Dynamic flexibility- repeated flexibility
Gross body coordination- maintaining balance
Gross body equilibrium- organise the movement
Trunk strength- abdominal
What are the psychomotor abilities? FARRRMMS
Multi-limb co-ordination: whole body movement
Response orientation- responding to stimulus
Reaction time- time it takes to respond
Speed of movement- how quick you respond
Finger dexterity- manipulating small objects
Manual dexterity- accurate hand and arm movement
Rate control- change speed and direction of skill
Aiming- golf, archery
