Nurse’s role
promote health among various populations in different stetting and focuses on teaching activities that maintain wellness such as screening, immunization, health teaching. Nurses tho this by looking at prevention.
3 levels of prevention
PRIMARY
generalized health promotion actives as well as specific actions that prevent or delay the occurrence of a disease. Aimed at targeting specific health risks.
EXAMPLES: immunizations, smoking cessation, nutritional programs, physical fitness

SECONDARY
early diagnosis and prompt treatment to stop the pathological process, enable person to return to his former state of health.
EXAMPLES: screening techniques, treating early stages of disease to limit disability

TERTIARY
measures to rehabilitate a group of persons so they can maximize their remaining capacities.. Primarily revolve around rehabilitation
EXAMPLES: learning how to use wheel chair, perform ADL’s independently.
