What are some of the effects of bullying for the perpetrator (the bully)

A
  • more likely to be depressed
  • Poor self-concept
  • lack self-control
  • lower levels of social competence than their peers
  • Negative perceptual bias (causes them to see hostile intent in ordinary situations, like if somebody accidentally pushes them, a bully may believe that it was done with malicious intent)
  • Often engage in deviant behavior (smoking, drinking, carry a weapon, stealing, damaging property)
  • Lower academic achievement
  • Lower school adjustment
  • Lower bonding to school
