What is cheating?

A

Someone who knows the rules of the game, purports to follow them, but covertly and deliberately breaks them for their own advantage. 1. intentional rule breaking 2. unfair advantage seeking

What is the defensive violation argument?

A

offensive and defensive violations differ. offensive violations attempt to secure advantage for self over ppl complying with rules (unacceptable). defensive violations attempt to protect against being disadvantaged (maybe acceptable)

What is the limited sacrifice argument?

A

some self-interested rule violations may be morally acceptable; when the rule breakng is public knowledge and accepted as a fact of life. when resisting breaking the rule is clearly morally pointless. when resisting breaking the rule will produce more harm than good.

A

the golden rule: treat others as you wish to be treated. copper rule: treat others how they treat you.

A

if breaking a rule has no consequences then its a non functioning rule. so its morally pointless to follow rules that are not part of functioning moral systems.
